The market for interactive
3D graphics applications can roughly be
subdivided into a market for games, running
on PC's or dedicated game consoles, and
the professional market, often deploying
UNIX systems with Open GL™ and Open
Perform™. The latter systems usually
are big and lack portability.
In order to apply professional
applications with high performance in the
PC domain, Crystal Interactive Technologies
has developed the dedicated software toolkit,
5D Platform™.
Its state-of-the-art architecture allows
multiple web based clients to interact simultaneously
with a server based interactive 5D model,
providing real time refresh rates at the
clients station.
Performance bench marks of the 5D
Platform compare favorably with that of
UNIX workstations and can be easily scaled
with PC configurations, in terms of CPU
performance, memory size and GFX co-processor.
